About the Artist
Before occupying walls, canvases, and cultural spaces, IGNOTO was just a faceless name, marking the city where the system cannot reach. Drawing came before the streets. Since childhood, the stroke was already language, instinct, and refuge. Music was a compass—rhythm, word, and silence shaped the gesture, influencing the timing, repetition, and tension present in each work. The beginning was in pixação (Brazilian graffiti lettering), where the risk is real and the street shows its hostility. An independent artist, forged on the streets, he built his language through consistency—without sponsorship, without shortcuts, without compromise. From the streets to festivals and institutions, he performed live painting at cultural events and prominent exhibitions, occupying spaces where art meets the real audience—"no filter." He crossed the boundary between the invisible and the collectible without asking permission, carrying the power of urban art beyond the wall without losing the essence: "art that is not explained, but felt."
